2. Summary

This paper was written to reviews Digital twin technology in the production stage. Besides, a DT-based visual monitoring and prediction system (DT-VMPS) for shop-floor operating status is developed.

DT-VMPS is constructed of the visual monitoring module that contains The Shop-floor Digital Twin (SDT), and the prediction module. SDT is used to realize real-time monitoring and prediction of the physical shop-floor's operating status. SDT demand five-dimensional(geometry, physics, behavior, rule, and data) modeling architecture to describe the physical shop-floor more accurately. SDT is based on the 2D status Kanban which is an information display platform and a visual platform for the subsequent prediction of shop-floor status. After the synchronous mapping to 3D model in DT-VMPS, human-computer interaction is more delicate and intuitive than 2D SDT model. Markov chain employed to calculate the performance indicators. Based on calculating results, DT-VMPS assists management such as bottlenecks in optimizing the production processes.

 

Through the development of DT-VMPS, real-time synchronous mapping of production processes and elements is achieved. In addition, it also improves the transparency of the factory and reduces the response time to onsite requirements.
